As chair of the board of the Law Society Foundation, I am extending an invitation to you to attend a fundraiser that we are organizing in support of the Lawyers Feed the Hungry program.
On April 24, 2025, we are holding an auction sale of some of the art painted by the late Roy McMurtry, OC, OOnt, KC, LSM. The event will be held in Convocation Hall at Osgoode Hall from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.

HeARTs for Hunger
April 24, 2025 – 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Lawyer, judge, and landscape painter. With a legacy of milestone contributions to the Ontario justice system during his time both as Attorney General and subsequently Chief Justice, the Law Society Foundation is honoured to present a charitable auction of original studies and paintings by the late Hon. Roy McMurtry in support of the Foundation’s Toronto Lawyers Feed the Hungry Program.
An evening of “canapés and canvases”, HeARTs for Hunger will feature over 100 original works for both live and silent auction, all a visual record of the travels of Mr. McMurtry during his lifetime.
Tickets are $30 each. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Net proceeds will support the Foundation’s hunger relief efforts of the Toronto Lawyers Feed the Hungry program and the 58,000 meals served each year to those in need.
